Parade Information and Rules
Unity in the Community is excited to announce that it is expanding the Disability Parade from previous years. This is the first year where the parade will travel through downtown Spokane to demonstrate the Spokane region’s respect, support, and honoring of our diverse communities.
Unity in the Community is sponsoring the Unity Parade to represent Spokane’s diverse cultures, communities, and people. The parade is designed to be a time of celebration and joy for how our similarities and differences make us a stronger and better community.
We expect all groups participating in the parade to agree to the following guidelines:
- Parade participants shall focus their messages on the parade theme and the joy of celebrating and sharing their culture, identity, or community.
- All people and groups are honored for their contribution to the Spokane region.
- No images or messages that promote or condone hate, violence, degradation, negative stereotypes, or disrespect of any person(s) or groups are permitted.
- The parade is non-partisan and all people are welcome to participate.
