Unity in the Community Needs You!
The 16th Annual Unity in the Community will be on Saturday, August 21st from 10 am to 4 pm at Riverfront Park, Clock Tower in Spokane Washington. Last year over 6,000 people were in attendance and over 150 vendors were present.
This large undertaking could not happen without all of the people who volunteer either the day before or day of the event. If you want be part of the volunteer team that makes the largest diversity celebration in the Inland Northwest happen, please consider the following opportunities:
- Set-up on Friday, August 20th (5 pm at the Clock Tower)
- Clean-up on August 21st (we can always use more individuals for this opportunity)
- General Volunteer (help at information booth, assist with vendors, and other jobs that need to be done on the day of the event)
- Volunteer in the youth area (help with giveaways, fitting bicycle helmets, etc)
- UIC Pin Sales
- Cultural Village area
- Stage Area
If you are interested in volunteering on August 21st, you do not have to stay all day. We have three shifts for you to choose between; 8:00 a.m. to noon, 12:00 to 4:00 p.m., or tear down from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.
To Volunteer, please contact Jim Mohr (contact info listed below). Please indicate the shift and volunteer area you would like to help out with.
Another way to help is to encourage your place of business to serve as a school supply drive drop-off point. Every year we collect school supplies for K–8 grades and distribute the supplies at Unity in the Community. This drive is wonderful way for us to show support for our schools and children. Contact either Jim Mohr or Mark Beattie about this opportunity (see contact information below).
